"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."

-John 15:12

Those people...

Those people that just have... something.

They have something that screams that they love life. They love people. They love inspiring others. They love thinking twice about you.

Love.

They have love.

As I finish up Bob Goff's second book, "Everybody Always," I got so inspired to write about this and share to y'all about it!!!

A little back story: So it's 2018 and I met Bob Goff in 2016- pretty much two years ago which is crazy to think about it. So I vividly remember standing in the mail room of this YoungLife camp called Malibu in Canada (I served there for a month), and one of my friends screamed "WHAT! He's here!??!??! No way! You're kidding!" And then I see him bolt down Malibus path near the dining hall. I was very shook to say the least. I asked the mail lady who was here and she said "Bob Goff." I repeated the name in my head over and over, but nope nothing came to mind. At Malibu, there is literally no signal- it's in the middle of no where (but the prettiest no where I've ever been)- so I couldn't just quickly Google the name Bob Goff and pretend like I knew who he was. As my friend Ally and I walked down to the docks to talk to some people, we saw a group of about 7 people formed around this older looking guy. I asked Ally who the guy was and she told me that's Bob Goff. I decided to go over and listen and observe because who knows what could happen,,, I didn't know much but I did know that he was famous. As I stood there listening to him I instantly feel in love with him. After a short 10 minute group conversation with him I walked away confused. I had just met him and I instantly wanted "what he had"- I didn't know what "that" was at the time, but there was something about him.

So about 2 weeks pass, and on our last free day at Malibu, we were told that Bob and his wife will be joining us to sit and chat for about an hour while we do some water activities. Turns out Bob and his wife lived just a few minutes away... crazy right!! I was excited to learn more about this "Bob dude." He is telling us all about his life and his love for his sweet wife and most importantly, his love for God. I swear Bob's resting face is him smiling. I fell more in love with his personality and got inspired by him. He radiated joy and made everyone else radiate that energy too. Bob's view on life is the type of life we all should be living- I mean this guy jumped into ocean water with some crazy teenagers in our clothes for crying out loud,,, how much more of a free spirit can one get????

I am pretty upset with myself for not rushing home after that month and reading his book "Love Does," but I didn't and I still haven't #exposed. Don't worry I promised myself I'll read it by the end of the year. I picked up his second book this summer and gave it a read... And I can honestly say that everything he says and does in these books are so true and so him. While reading the book, you might wonder if Bob was actually carrying around a bucket on the plane, or if he actually let a homeless person sleep in his car during the day- after meeting Bob, I don't even doubt him doing those things for a second. He was so atomistic about everything.

Anyways, enough raging about Bob.

THOSE people. I have met a hand-full of people who truly lift my spirits when I am around them. They just love on everyone and everything. They want to help.they want to serve.but mostly they want to love everyone through the power and grace of God. They do everything with Him in mind. They realize that not everything is going to be "happy-go-lucky" so why not just make the best of the situation.

I met this girl who is a year younger than me... but I look up to her. You know why? because her spirit is just so filled with Jesus that it over flows onto everyone she speaks to. She may never mention Jesus' name, but you'll know that there is something bigger and better than her that is causing her to radiate the way she does. She loves everyone. every single person she meets. A genuine love that comes from the heart and means it.

God is truly working in those people's lives to show both you and me how to experience this life to it's fullest poteinal.

Consistently pouring yourself onto others, will keep you filled to the brim.

"(35) For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, (36) I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ (37) “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? (38) When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? (39) When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ (40) “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"

-Matthew 25:35-40

so go. go be THAT person. But don't do it for self fulfillment: for you'll be already full and filled from God, but do these actions for Him and His glory.

Love. Love everyone. Spend time with them. Sometimes time is the most precious gift of all. Be the neighbor in every situation, and watch your life transform- the right life.

Love yourself too. You are perfect in God's eyes so no other opinion should matter.

So go spread love- you'll be causing massive chaos in hell, but the biggest parties in Heaven.
